A Journey of Faith Through Time
St. Theresa Church was first organized by a dozen or so families who settled in the Rutland area. Under the guidance of Fr. Francis Verbeke, a small church, about 60 x 30 feet was built. Under Fr. Delestre, a bigger church of Roman Style was built in 1948, and was promptly destroyed by fire. Another church with a full basement was built, re-opened in 1950, and is still in use today. In 2016, Holy Spirit Parish merged with St. Theresa Church, and in accordance with Canon Law, was renamed Corpus Christi Parish.
