These are the people who sing at the Mass. We encourage everyone to get involved in this ministry.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
All ministers of Holy Communion should show the greatest reverence for the Most Holy Eucharist by their demeanor, their attire, and the manner in which they handle the consecrated bread or wine. All will be briefed and trained to fufill this ministry with dignity and reverence. If interested please contact the pastor.
Altar Servers
Altar serving is one of the oldest ministries in the Church. It is a great opportunity to grow closer to God and to serve in a very solemn manner at the Mass.Young people are encouraged to participate at the Mass as altar servers once they have completed Grade 2. Training sessions to prepare them are held by a designate of the Pastor. Call the office 250-765-6869
Lectors
These are the people who read the Word of God at Mass. Those wishing to be lectors are prepared for this ministry and are expected to prepare their readings and be at Mass for their turn. We encourage everyone to get involved in this ministry.
Catechism
The goal of catechism is to assist parents in the religious education of those children who are attending public schools. The volunteer catechists are mandated by the Pastor to teach the Catholic Faith to the children who have been entrusted to them for weekly lessons. Each grade level builds upon the last, following a pattern of continuous growth in depth.
